Week 11 Rumour: Commanders vs. Dolphins Madrid Matchup Taking Shape

RUMOUR UPDATE | 9/5/2025

Remember our recent analysis about Washington's overdue international appearance?

Madrid in November

If confirmed, this Week 11 game would take place on Sunday, 16th November, with American Thanksgiving following on 27th November.

For us UK fans, mid-November in Madrid means comfortable temperatures typically around 12-15°C, perfect for exploring the city before and after the game.

Madrid Meetup

If this rumour proves true, expect a massive burgundy and gold takeover in Madrid. The UK Commanders community has been starved of a European game for nearly a decade.

This would be our moment. Imagine the pre-game meetups in Plaza Mayor, the tailgate atmosphere spreading through Madrid's legendary tapas bars, and the roar when JD5 takes the field at Bernabéu!

Post-Madrid Schedule

Should this rumour prove true, the Commanders would likely have a bye in Week 12 following the Madrid trip. This would give them perfect time to rest before the season defining stretch..

The Commanders-Dolphins matchup would showcase two of the NFL's most improved offences. Washington's attack has averaged 27.4 points per game this season behind Daniels' dual-threat capabilities, while Miami brings its explosive speed-based scheme, which has created headaches for defences last season.

With the Commanders' success leading to more likely prime-time slots this season, UK fans must be prepared to sacrifice sleep to watch more 1 AM kickoffs.

A 2:30 PM Sunday afternoon game in Madrid would relieve our battered sleep schedules.

Stay tuned to UKCommanders.com for confirmation as soon as the official announcement drops. Time to dust off those passports and practise your Spanish – "¡Vamos Commanders!"

We'll update this post as more information becomes available.
