UK Commanders Fans: Guide to Visiting Washington - Planning Your Trip
Entry Requirements
Most UK citizens need an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) for visits under 90 days.
Apply online at https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta at least 72 hours before travel, but ideally several weeks in advance.
If you already hold a different visa type (work, student, etc.), check its validity for your planned travel dates.
It's always wise to check the UK Government travel advice before travel overseas.
Getting There
Washington Area Airports
The Washington DC metropolitan area is served by three major airports:
Washington Dulles International (IAD): Located in Virginia, approximately 26 miles from downtown DC. Most direct flights from the UK arrive here.
Baltimore/Washington International (BWI): Located in Maryland, about 32 miles from DC. Often offers more competitive fares.
Ronald Reagan National (DCA): Closest to downtown DC but primarily serves domestic routes, requiring connections for UK travellers.

Timing Your Visit
Plan to arrive at least one day before the game to adjust to time differences.
Consider extending your stay to explore Washington DC's landmarks and museums.
